As an international financial services provider, EOS is committed to the transition to a more sustainable economy. We see it as our responsibility to contribute to this transformation and align our business activities with climate goals. EOS contributes to the Otto Group’s climate action strategy, which follows the 1.5 °C target of the Paris Agreement. The Otto Group has set itself a near-term science-based target (SBT). This has been validated by the Science-Based Targets initiative (SBTi). The near-term SBT provides for a 42 percent * reduction in the Group’s absolute greenhouse gas emissions by the end of the 2031/32 financial year for Scopes 1 to 3 compared with the 2021/22 financial year.
EOS Group records its greenhouse gas emissions (Scope 1 and Scope 2) in accordance with the Greenhouse Gas Protocol. The Protocol provides a globally recognized and standardized framework for measuring and managing greenhouse gas emissions across the private and public sectors. The primary drivers in the EOS Group’s greenhouse gas inventory are building and fleet emissions.
Decarbonization is achieved primarily by switching to electricity from renewable sources. EOS has established Group-wide targets for all relevant ESG aspects. For example, we aim to significantly increase the share of green electricity and the proportion of electrified vehicles in our fleet.
